DERMAL FILLERS

Fill Your Destiny

Dermal fillers are injected into the skin to add volume and improve the appearance of facial wrinkles. This results in an immediate and youthful result

In aesthetics, we refer to something called the ‘triangle of beauty’. An inverted triangle represents a youthful face – the downward apex of the triangle at the chin and the prominence at the cheek bones.

As we age, our natural collagen breaks down, resulting in loss of facial volume. Further, we have bony loss and loss of fat pads in the upper face—resulting in loss of structural support to the aging face. This aging process causes the facial structure to shift and sag, causing wrinkles, jowls, nasal labial folds and sagging skin. This results in the shape of an upright triangle with the broad base in the lower face. Dermal fillers can help to replenish this lost volume and correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds restoring a more natural, youthful, and lifted appearance. There are many external factors in addition to age that can accelerate the severity of facial aging, such as smoking, weight changes, sun exposure, genetics, and hormonal changes.

Finding the right dermal filler to treat your specific concerns requires exceptional training and an artist’s eye. The fillers we use each have unique properties. A smooth-flowing hyaluronic acid gel may be perfect for a plumper lip, while a thicker dermal filler is best used to add definition to the cheeks. Our medical providers at RMD are well trained injectors and artists as well. They understand facial anatomy and what is needed in each area to get the most natural looking correction. Further, they are closely supervised by Dr Durst with greater than a decade of extensive education and experience in injectable treatments. We do a full aesthetic assessment to determine your desires and needs and we value educating our patients. Our goal is to have you love looking in the mirror every single day. So, at RevitalyzeMd, we offer Knoxville Dermal Filler patients a full spectrum of services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it hurt?

Minimal discomfort. A topical numbing agent is used for lip filler, as there are more sensory endings in the lips.

How long does the typical appointment take?
Treatment times vary from 30-60 minutes.
Is there any recovery time?
Any procedures that involve needles and injections could result in bruising or swelling. Occasionally, patients will experience some bruising at the injection sites. They are usually mild and should dissipate within a few days.
When are the effects visible?

You will notice changes almost immediately. There will likely be some initial swelling that should subside within 24 hours.

How long will my results last?

The longevity of your results depends on the filler being used and the location in which it is being used. Typically, dermal fillers are visible for 6 to 24 months. Taking good care of your skin with one of our medical grade skin care lines will help enhance and prolong your results. Speak to your provider regarding appropriate after care.

Tell me about the Tear Trough procedure.

As we age, we lose volume in the tear trough region – giving us tired eyes due to dark circles, wrinkles, thinning skin and under-eye hollows. It is the thinnest skin in the body. Tear trough fillers can be an effective way of treating dark circles under the eyes and under-eye hollows due to volume loss and thin skin. Precisely placed filler adds volume to the area, reducing the darkness, hollows and wrinkles. We frequently combine that with PRF (Platelet Rich fibrin) treatments as it also improves skin quality by boosting collagen production and thickening the skin. Medical grade eye skin care products is also very important in treating the under eye areas.

What’s a Liquid Nose Job?

Non Surgical Nose Jobs or Liquid nose jobs can be done with injection of dermal fillers into the nose. Liquid nose jobs are used to provide a long-lasting and pleasing modification to the structure of the nose. This procedure can smooth out irregularities along the bridge of the nose, make the nose appear straighter, raise the nasal bridge, or level out a bump on your profile. We highly recommend this treatment if you’re wanting to test what enhancement would look like, or desire a modification without undergoing a surgical procedure like rhinoplasty.

Am I a candidate for a Liquid Nose Job?

The Liquid Nose Job with injection of dermal filler is a fantastic option to change your look and try out an enhancement without permanent surgery and without downtime. It does need to be done by experienced injectors. Skip the scalpel and come see what this innovative new procedure is all about. Not to mention it’s much less expensive!

Tell me about Jawline Contouring.

The jawline is an area of the face that can change dramatically with age. Many patients inquire about how to reverse the effects of aging in the jaw without resorting to a surgical procedure as the initial step. In other cases, patients with a receding or weak jawline feel that their appearance can be vastly improved if they had just a touch more definition or volume. Dermal fillers help anyone who wants to reshape, contour, and tighten the look of their jawline without surgery and its associated costs and recovery time.

Am I a candidate for Jawline Contouring?

Jawline filler contouring may be right for you if you’ve always felt you had a weak jawline, or if you are noticing loss of jaw bone definition with age. Many candidates are men wishing for a more chiselled jaw or women looking to minimize the double chin. Jaw filler enhancement injections are popular among patients searching for a minimally invasive way to change the contours of the jaw area. The treatment can be performed on most adults who are in good overall health and who are at or near their ideal weight. Good candidates are also realistic about the effects of the treatment. Depending on your goals, jaw filler enhancement can achieve a subtle but noticeable change in the contours of your jaw or can result in a more defined and prominent change in the jawline. Schedule a consultation visit with us to find out whether jaw enhancement is right for you.

The Science Behind Fillers At RevitalyzeMD, we offer two types of dermal fillers: hyaluronic acid fillers (Belotero, Restylane, and Juvederm) and biostimulatory fillers (Sculptra and Radiesse).

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance that is found in our skin naturally but HA lessens as we age, causing a decrease in our skin volume and hydration. These reversible dermal injectable fillers replenish our stores of hyaluronic acid, providing fullness and elasticity back to our skin. Because HA is an integral substance in our body, the dermal filler is gradually absorbed into the body over time.

Unlike hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, Biostimulatory fillers such as Radiesse or Sculptra can help rejuvenate our skin. Biostimulatory Fillers stimulate production of collagen and elastin production in your skin. This boosted collagen and elastin helps restore your skin’s inner structure. Radiesse filler also increases facial volume that has been lost due to aging. Your body will degrade Radiesse filler material over a much longer period of time than the hyaluronic acid fillers. This results in immediate effects that have long lasting results that improve with time. The results are a more youthful appearance.
