Vampire Hair Restoration FAQs
Your provider will draw blood and extract the PRP that will be used for your treatment. Pictures will be taken to compare against results. If need we can use local numbing medicine to help with discomfort. But we have Pronox (laughing gas) available to use during the treatment. We also use a freezing device to numb the area of treatments. Next, PRP is injected directly into the scalp to stimulate follicle growth and health. The procedure typically takes 60 minutes. Once your session is completed, you will be free to carry on with your daily activities. No downtime.
We generally recommend three treatments spaced about a month apart. Hair growth occurs in cycles and in order to get the best results, the PRP should be injected over the course of three months to capitalize on those periods of growth. We include Viviscal supplements with our treatment packages to help kick start the process and give our patients the highest chance of success.
PRP Therapy protects hair from additional shedding, renews miniaturizing hairs for improved growth, and restores hair quality and quantity for patients with thinning hair. PRP is applicable for: male and female hereditary hair loss for Alopecia Areata, Hypotrichosis (decreased hair growth) of the eyebrows, patients who’ve had surgical hair restoration previously, and people who want to maintain their hair without using medication like Propecia or Rogaine.
New hair growth becomes visible in most cases within 4-6 months after the PRP Injection procedure. Hair continues to thicken over a period of 12-15 months. Hair will feel and appear thicker and denser depending upon the area treated, with results in the hairline typically being more noticeable to patients. These results last for months, and even years, before regression may begin to occur.
Every patient is different and while we do have a very high success rate, there are some people that won’t get the results they are hoping for. We perform a full evaluation on each patient prior to beginning treatments and try to help each client have realistic expectations regarding their likely outcome. For stubborn cases, we have some additional options, including stem cell add-ons that may help. However, we can’t guarantee that everyone will get the same results.
