DiolazeXL’s large treatment spot sizes make treatments convenient and fast — and its powerful diode laser beams can treat even the most stubborn hair on most areas of the body. Its built-in skin cooling surface makes treatments more comfortable than most devices, with most patients noting that DiolazeXL is virtually painless.
Patients wanting to treat a large area can expect about a 15-20 minute treatment session versus 45+ minutes with traditional devices. Hair is reduced with each session and results are observed after four to six sessions, depending on your hair color, hair type, and skin tone. We offer packages for large, medium and small areas.
“I saw results after the very first treatment. The hair under my arms kept getting finer after each session. I don’t even have to shave it anymore!”

Before and After Photos
How does DiolazeXL work?
During laser treatment, a diode laser beam passes through the skin towards hair follicles. The penetrating energy then heats up the root of the hair, which in turn prevents future hair growth.
Does it hurt?
This is one of the most exciting facts about the Diolaze system. The laser head is designed to provide pre, during and post treatment cooling to the skin to provide a painless treatment. In the rare event that a patient is sensitive to the treatment, we do have some options to help your feel more comfortable during your treatment. This may be discussed during your consultation.
How many sessions are required?
We generally recommend 6-8 treatments. The number of sessions will differ depending on your hair color, hair type, body area, and skin tone. Hair grows in cycles, and we find that spreading treatments out helps us get the most effective results.
Which area of the body can be treated?
DiolazeXL can be safely used on most areas of the body that have unwanted hair. Most commonly treated areas include: bikini, legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin and sideburns.
How soon should I expect to see results?
Usually you will see results within two to three weeks after your first session. Many of our patients see a big difference after their first session with some reporting a 50% reduction in hair, but experience has taught us that they will see regrowth and they will likely use the full eight sessions in our package.
What type of results should I expect?
A lot less hair and shaving! We’re well aware of the many empty and misleading claims made by other clinics offering laser hair removal, including the declaration that you’ll never shave again. The truth is you should see an 80-90 percent reduction in hair growth. The follicles that remain are damaged and produce finer hair than you had before laser treatment. You can expect to shave much less than you do now. Some of our patients shave once a week, some once a month; some don’t have to shave at all. One thing we can say for sure, each of our clients is pleased with his or her results. About two to three weeks after your first session, you will begin to notice less hair, slower-growing hair and even some hair falling out.
Will this procedure help with razor bumps and ingrown hairs?
This is one of the great beneficial side effects of laser hair removal. Reduction of shaving bumps and ingrown hairs will be markedly noticeable even after your first session.
Can blonde, gray or light hair be removed?
Lighter hair is very difficult for the laser to treat because the pigment in the hair is what attracts the laser beam in order to destroy the hair growth. Dark haired clients with fair skin are the easiest clients to treat, but we would love to see you for a free consultation to let you know if you are a good candidate.
Can I be tanned, use a tanning bed or spray on tan while I’m having laser sessions?
We understand that many people use self-tanners and spray tanners, however we cannot treat you with a laser while it is on your skin. When scheduling your laser hair removal treatments please be sure that you have allowed enough time for all of the artificial tanner to be gone from your skin. For the safest results, we need you to be as close to your natural color as possible. Tanning is not allowed for two weeks before the treatment or two weeks after having laser hair removal. You are able to use self-tanners/spray tan immediately following your laser hair removal treatment
Can I treat my eyebrows?
It is dangerous to treat close to the eye with the diode laser. Actually, Tennessee law prohibits laser hair removal within one inch of the orbit of the eye.
When can I resume my normal activities after laser hair removal?
You may apply makeup and return to social activities immediately after treatment.
Which ethnicities can you treat with this system?
We treat most skin colors and tones. The Diolaze is optimal for individuals of light to medium dark skin color. During your consultation appointment we will determine if you are a good candidate for this treatment. For people of color we’re happy to report that using new laser technology has yielded a safe experience for clients with darker skin types. Uniquely designed lasers protect the skin while achieving excellent hair removal results. Additionally, as we reduce the hair growth, we even can reduce the pigmentation changes (caused by ingrown hairs) that commonly arise in people of color. The pigmentation on the skin that is caused by ingrown hairs will be markedly reduced after laser hair removal.
Can I still get Diolaze treatments if I am pregnant or nursing?
We cannot treat pregnant patients. Should you become pregnant during laser hair removal sessions, we simply finish your package after you deliver. We do, however, treat nursing women.
Are all medications safe during laser treatments?
Please let our staff now if you are taking Accutane. Typically, medications that cause light sensitivity are okay to use with the treatment, but be sure to report all medications and supplements to your provider.
Is herpes an issue during laser hair removal?
Please advise your nurse provider if you have herpes. They can help coordinate the best time to schedule your appointments as well as tailor your treatment to avoid areas where outbreaks occur.
I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). Will laser hair removal work for me?
Yes, and it works quite well. PCOS patients are women who have a “hormonal issue” that results in a male pattern of hair growth. Laser hair removal will get reduction of anywhere from 60-80% of hair growth. Our goal is to reduce the maintenance that you have to do substantially, and reduce the growth of unwanted facial hair tremendously. We tell all of our PCOS patients to expect to do touch up sessions anywhere from two to three times per year after completing a package. Should you have increased hair growth on other body parts including the back, buttocks, neck and more and we can treat these areas as well.
